Our Commitment to
Sustainability

At The Stash Company, we believe that providing high-quality, custom apparel shouldn't come at the expense of our planet or its people. We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint, promoting ethical practices, and making responsible choices at every stage of our supply chain.
Sustainability is not just an initiative for us; it is built into the very foundation of how we operate, even as we continuously look for ways to improve.

A Made-to-Order Business Model

The fashion and merchandise industry is historically responsible for vast amounts of textile waste, driven largely by overproduction. We actively combat this through our core business model: we only make what is ordered.

Zero DeadstockBecause our garments are made-to-order, we do not hold vast warehouses of pre-printed inventory. This completely eliminates the risk of unsold garments ending up in landfills.

Intentional ProductionEvery item we produce already has a home. By creating bespoke items specifically for our customers, we ensure that resources are only used when there is genuine demand.

Responsible Sourcing & Materials

Sustainability means longevity. We source high-quality fabrics and use premium production techniques so that your stash survives years of wear and washing, moving away from "throwaway" culture.

The Path to Sustainable FabricsWhile we do not currently use sustainable or recycled fabrics across our standard range, introducing these options is a major priority for us. We are actively working with our suppliers to source and test eco-friendly materials so that we can introduce a sustainable fabric offering to our customers in the near future, without compromising on the quality or durability you expect.

Manufacturing & Printing: An Evolving Process

While our made-to-order model eliminates deadstock, the physical manufacturing process still has an environmental impact. Minimising this impact is at the forefront of our minds.

Efficient CuttingOur production partners utilise advanced pattern-cutting technology to maximise fabric yield and reduce offcut waste during the sewing process.

Exploring Sustainable InksFinding the perfect balance between sustainability and high-quality printing is an evolving process. We are actively exploring and testing new eco-friendly inks and printing methods. Our goal is to transition to greener alternatives as the technology improves, ensuring we lower our environmental impact while maintaining vibrant, long-lasting prints.

Reducing Plastic in Packaging & Shipping

We are systematically removing unnecessary single-use plastics from our dispatch process to lighten our environmental footprint.

Eliminating Individual WrappingFor our bulk custom orders, we are removing individual plastic polybags. By packing bulk garments together rather than wrapping every single item, we drastically lower the total plastic used per order.

Consolidated ShippingBecause we produce bulk custom orders, we consolidate shipping to a single location (such as a club or society representative) rather than sending hundreds of individual parcels. This significantly reduces the carbon footprint and packaging waste of our deliveries.

Ethical Supply Chain & Fair Labor

Environmental sustainability must go hand-in-hand with social responsibility. We are proud to state that 100% of the manufacturing suppliers we partner with are Sedex members.

Uncompromising TransparencySedex (Supplier Ethical Data Exchange) is one of the world's leading ethical trade organisations. By exclusively partnering with Sedex members, we ensure our supply chain is transparent and held to the highest global standards for social and environmental performance.

Rigorous AuditingOur partner facilities undergo independent ethical audits (such as SMETA - Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) to actively monitor and improve working conditions.

Worker WelfareThis membership guarantees that the people making your garments work in safe, hygienic environments, receive fair living wages, and are protected by strict labor rights, including a zero-tolerance policy for forced or child labor.

Our Ongoing Journey

We know there is always more work to do, and our approach to sustainability will always be an ongoing journey. We regularly review our suppliers, materials, and internal operations to identify new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and increase our positive impact.
